What You SAW Might Not Be What You GET
- One carer was putting a baby gal down on the floor, she placed her down quite abruptly, causing the baby to fall & hit her chin - baby cried. All the carer did was put her back up again, without even checking if she was all right.
- One baby was placed on mat for tummy time. He seems distressed having been placed front down for a while. No one bothered about him...coz other carers were busy feeding other babies. Baby got so tired he could not lift his neck any longer so his face fell flat on the floor, rubbing against the floor that everyone walked on, with shoes mind you.
- One baby was having a bottle, milk dripped all over his shirt. His bottle fell on the floor & carer just picked it up & gave it back to him. No cleaning of shirt nor washing the bottle tit.
- A baby was 'crawling' on some tiles...he tumbles & rolls & cries....no one picked him up. He was left to cry till one carer saw me staring, only then was he picked up & comforted.
Long story short, what we saw at the childcare centre the first time was completely different from what we saw today. I was told that there will be 4 babies to 1 carer, but today there were about 12 babies and we only saw 2 carers on ground.
Needless to say I could not bear to think what Ethan will be experiencing if we really put him in. I guess what really troubled us all was that each baby was certainly not given sufficient attention such that should they fall or hit their head, we wouldn't know would we? Is this a sign? I ask God...that I should see all these today?
Verdict - Ethan will now no longer go to Childcare. I have postponed my return to work till 2nd April and my mil will be back end March to look after Ethan.
