"Thanks Godma for the lovely x'mas gift. Mommy says London is too far for me to travel at the moment. But if I have the chance, I'd love to visit you in London & give you a big big huggie for ALL the pressies you got for me since I was born. Maybe I'll see you in Singapore next year ok? A little huggie for Danielle too pls - that makes her my God-sister doesn't it..."

Was on msn with a dear friend yesterday. Somehow I can't resist not writing about him coz he just never fails to make me laugh. Not coz he has a great sense of humour, but coz of his trade-mark "humourous" nature and his most-of-the-time CRUDE vocab.
Seriously, enter a conversation with him, and you'll NEVER NOT hear words from him like KNN, WTF, CB.... (if you duno what they stand for, which I'll be really surprise if you're a S'porean, email me & I'll spell it out)
He has recently also proposed to his galfriend! She said yes of course (not that he didn't know she'd say yes btw..) And with his "pattern-more-than-badminton" self, handmade a 'Marry Me Babe" banner & hung it outside the gal's window. Cheesy? but quite touching ...unfortunately the gal's mom requested that they take it down, not long after he took so much effort to put it up, as she was afraid passerbys might think that they are proposing to their neighbour. Duh!!...that's when "WTF" came in of course.
Alright, in case I'm starting to make him sound like a typical ah beng who is seriously in need of language therapy, I have to say that I have not met anyone more talented & gifted with nature than this boy. Thou' small in size (**no pun intended**), this boy has been blessed with a talent not many people have. He has the ability to name every single plant/ leaf/ flower/ weed/ seed you come across anywhere - you point it, he names it.
Check out his unique, one of a kind garden, meticulously hand-planted by him and him alone. He also transformed his Tillandsia plant into a mini x'mas tree. Priceless.

Brought Ethan to visit Boomerang today...finally...after being 'bugged' since the day he was born. Also marked as the first time I brought him out all my meeself
Said a little prayer request before I set out:
1. Dun cry in the car
2. Dun cry at Boomerang
3. Dun cry on the way back in the car
4. Basically, just dun cry
1. Got there in peace. So 1st prayer answered.
2. Whinged a little at Boom - only coz he was really sleepy & being handled by so many strangers. 2nd prayer considered answered.
3. Only for a minute - knocked out with 'motor motion'. 3rd prayer answered.
4. Basically, all answered. Praise God!!
Came home, pop into the shower & all of a sudden, had this 'self-awakening moment' about my life. Has it ever occured to you that the more you do not want something, the more you'll get it?
My point? Never say never...or maybe wish for the opposite instead?

Obviously, these days I have more time, as evident from my much more updated blog.
Why??? -- Answer lies in the beauty of a Hammock, imported from Singapore, hand delivered by my mom in law.
Ethan boy naps in this hammock in the day & sleeps in his cot only after the evening feed. It has made a huge difference in my day - I even have time to read now! Its just much easier coaxing him to sleep as all we need to do is to 'yao-ah-yao'...
I know I know, many moms will shake their heads & strongly advise me against this - especially when we've been told time & time again that we need to teach babies to fall asleep on their own, in their cot. I have taken a shortcut, I am aware, and will probably have to pay for this when the time comes to remove him from the hammock. But my mom-in-law advocates this - saying that all her 3 sons slept in hammocks when they were little & had no problems sleeping on their own when they got bigger....I have to trust her on that, or at least it makes me feel better believing in that. So, since it provides me with sanity for today, I figured I shall worry about the future when the time comes.
"... But seek first his Kingdom and his righteousness, and all will be given to you...Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of his own."
Mathew 6:33-34
